DDSRank Announces 2015 Dental Scholarship Winner

Claudia VanOpdorp, winner of The 2015 DDSRank Dental Scholarship

DDSRank is proud to announce that Claudia Jean VanOpdorp is the winner of The 2015 DDSRank Dental Scholarship. The award, which was created to help a student passionate about a career in dentistry fund their education, found a worthy recipient in the Annawan High School senior.

In her winning essay, VanOpdorp described the dental technologies – including oral surgery and dental implants – that restored her confidence in her own smile. She credited her appreciation for those procedures as the inspiration behind her decision to pursue a career in dentistry.

“I want to be able to give to people what dental sciences have given to me,” she wrote.

In addition to desire, academic achievement also played a role in her selection as the scholarship recipient.

“When we reviewed Claudia’s entry, her work ethic as a student was obvious,” said Steve Brown, DDSRank’s CEO.

VanOpdorp has displayed sustained excellence during her high school career, and maintains an outstanding grade point average. She has already been accepted to the University of Iowa – a school with a great dental program, and has applications pending at several other top schools.

“She was exactly the type of motivated and well-rounded student we were looking for when we created this scholarship,” said Brown. “We are thrilled to be able to name her as The DDSRank Dental Scholarship’s first recipient.”

DDSrank’s mission as a business is to help dentists succeed in building their practices using search engine optimization and dental marketing.
